Raymond Rufat

Mr. Rufat was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where he graduated from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He went on to attend Boston College, where he obtained dual undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Communication. During college, he spent a semester studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thereafter, Mr. Rufat obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. While at Vanderbilt, Mr. Rufat was the Development Editor for the Journal of Entertainment & Technology Law. He also served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Kathleen Cardone in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Since graduating from law school, Mr. Rufat has practiced at highly regarded national and boutique litigation firms in South Florida and New York City. He has represented corporate and individual clients in all phases of litigation. Mr. Rufat has experience in commercial litigation, real estate litigation, entertainment litigation, professional liability defense, construction litigation, medical malpractice, general liability defense, products liability, and insurance coverage.

Throughout the course of his career Mr. Rufat has represented Fortune 500 companies, real estate developers, high net worth individuals, television producers, accounting firms, law firms, insurance companies, government entities, small businesses, hospitals, physicians, boards of cooperatives and condominiums, and homeowner associations. He was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers for 2020 in the category of business litigation.

Mr. Rufat is a member of both the Florida Bar and the New York Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Having grown up in a Cuban-Argentinian family, he is fluent in Spanish.

In his free time, Mr. Rufat enjoys traveling and watching sports. He is a dedicated fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Miami Heat.
